So we shopped around. Downloaded retail apps. Evaluated everything from store locators to wish lists and reward programs. And we kicked up key insights about our audience. Shoe lovers cherish their iOS device almost as much as their shoes—and they love taking pictures wearing them.

Our vision was to identify useful functionality, then elevate it from interesting to amazing. We transformed notifications into occasions and created custom animations for rewards certificates, expiring certificates, and birthdays.
We added a few features to make the experience as indispensable as the perfect pair of black pumps. An integrated store locator made finding DSW easier than ever. And a barcode scanner and a discount calculator used the same colorful discount categories as in-store signage for a familiar shopping experience. The app quickly became an irresistible way to shop for shoes, online and in store.
